Hi! I’m Julianna! I’m a psychologist who loves working with kids and families. I got my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Minnesota in 2016. I have specialized exclusively in the treatment of children and adolescents throughout my career, including specialized training in graduate school. As a result, I have a strong understanding of typical development, how development can get “off-track,” and how to guide it back on course. Additionally, I know how crucial it is to make therapy fun and engaging in order for kids to be successful. Although structured in my approach, I am creative in incorporating play and in finding methods to teach and practice skills in a way that children and adolescents can enjoy.

I treat a variety of concerns in children and adolescents and always take an individualized approach to therapy rooted in evidence-based practices including:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help develop a new relationship with distressing thoughts and emotions so that the focus can be on healing and growing.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for individuals experiencing significant anxiety and/or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) , a parent-based treatment program to help caregivers support their child or adolescent in managing anxiety, OCD, and related problems.

Habit Reversal Therapy to help break unhealthy habits (like hair pulling or skin picking) by increasing awareness to triggers, building tolerance to urges, and developing alternative coping strategies.

Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) to help better manage tics by becoming more aware of tic warning signs, increase tolerance to those urges, and practice stopping tics.
